VIRPAL S. SANDHU and Harminder Kaur Khera are recipients of the two scholarships of $500.00 each for the year 8687 from Khalsa Education Trust, Yuba City. This trust was formed three years ago with S. Gurdip Singh Bains as President, S. Resham Singhas Secretary, S. Amarjit Singh Aujla, Master Gulzar Singh Bains and S. Harpal Singh Chahal as members. Since its formation this trust has been awarding two scholarships of $500.00 each to the outstanding Sikh students of the area.

This year thirteen students (only one boy and 12 girls) applied  to the trust for the award of these scholarships. The trust finally honoured Miss. Harminder Kaur Khera and Miss. Virpal Kaur Sandhu for these awards.

Harminder Kaur Khera is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tarsem S. Khera and granddaughter of S. Kartar Singh Khera. Miss Khera got the membership of the Society of distinguished American High School Student (C.S.F.) and Future Business leader of American (F.B.L.A.). She is also mentioned among “Who is Who” of the American High School Students. She is among the first four students getting “A” grade.

Virpal Kaur Sandhu is the daughter of Sardar Gurbux Singh Sandhu and Sardarni Charan Kaur Sandhu. Miss Sandhu also got membership of C.S.F. and F.B.L.A. and is also mentioned in “Who is who” of the American High School Students. In addition to this, she got an appreciation award for her 100 hours of volunteering service in a hospital. Miss Sandhu intends to become Pharmacist.

Miss Khera and Miss Sandhu are two of the four students, who got “A” grade given every year.
