MODESTO, CA: The Kabbadi teams from England are due in San Francisco this week. They are participants in the first Guru Nanak Dey tournament which begins at the Ceres High School here on Saturday March 11, at 10:00 am.
The composition of the English team was announced here this week. They are: Jarnail Singh Barking, Mohan (Daljeet), Sulakhan Singh Slough, Kulwant Singh Balina, Major Singh, Swarm Singh, Narver Singh Peter, Kirpal Singh Pali Gravesend, Baljeet Singh Coventry, and Kewal Singh Coventry.
The officials and members of the organizing committee accompanying the teams are: Resham Singh, Tarsem Purewal, Joginder Sangarh, Himmat Singh, A.S. Kang, S. S. Sahota, Jarnail Singh, and G.S. Talwar.
The players from England will play three Kabaddi test matches with a USA XI, on Sunday March 12th at Ceres High School (Modesto), Saturday March 18th in Fresno, at the Caruthers Gurdwara grounds and the last one on Sunday March 19th at the Tierra Buena Gurdwara. All the Kabaddi Test Matches are scheduled to begin in the afternoon at 3 pm. Arrangements have been completed for the TV coverage of these matches. It is learnt that other games too will have keen competition in their respective fields.
