U N I T E D NATIONS (PTI): Virtually all member states of the U.N. are in favor of expanding the security council to reflect radical changes in the world and increase its membership general assembly president S. RuInsanally says.

Diplomats said the group is likely to take a long time to sort out complex and complicated issues. The Actual expansion is not expected to take place for years as the Security Council itself has to approve the increase in the number of its members

At present none of the five permanent members with veto power is enthusiastic about the idea.

The working group which held its first meeting last week elected insanely as its president and that was the only activity at its inaugural session.
