Kuwait — West German Foreign Minister Hans Dietrich Genscher, arriving in Kuwait Sunday, said Bonn was hopeful a U.S. Soviet summit in November would move the world closer to peace.

“The two superpowers should play a leading and responsible role for security world peace,” Genscher said in an _ arrival statement. “That is why we hinge hopes on the upcoming (U.S. Soviet) summit.”

Genscher urged President. Reagan and Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev “to seek ways of makinks in Geneva succeed,” saying “such a step would greatly facilitate the peace mission in the world.”

The German foreign minister, leading a 50man delegation, later held talks with his Kuwaiti counterpart Sheikh Sabah AlAbmad AlSabah that focused on boosting economic cooperation between the two countries.

Sabah told Genscher that European countries should play a more active role in seeking anend to, Middle East tensions, government sources said.
