CHANDIGARH, India: The ruling Akali Dal has decided to stay away from the budget meeting of Shiromani Gurdwara Prabhandak Committee in view of the atmosphere in the Golden Temple Complex. This was announced by former S.G.P.C. Chief Giani Kabul Singh. The budget meeting is scheduled to be held on March 24.

Kabul Singh alleged that “undesirable” elements have taken control of the Golden Temple Complex and S.G.P.C. has failed to control these elements. In fact, S.GP.C. Has become a tool in their hands. He said that the atmosphere was not congenial for holding the budget meeting because members could not participate in it due to the fear of being harassed and humiliated. He said that large number of members of the S.G. P.C. has decided not to attend the budget session. Mr. Kabul Singh issued a statement after a high level consultation with senior party leaders.
