NEW DELHI: The joint NIC parliamentary delegation to Ayodhya has held that the demolition of existing structures around the disputed Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid] complex was not in consonance with the Allahabad High Court order and urged the Center to direct the state government not to make any further structural changes till final court orders.

In its report submitted to the: Union Home Minister S.B.Chavan the delegation said the demolitions had led to Heightened sense of insecurity among a section of population and aggravated the} climate of disharmony and tension endangering our secular framework and national unity.

The delegation led by S.R.Bommai regretted that the U.P. government had failed to fulfill its assurances given to the National Integration Council on November 21991

In a dissenting note a Congress member Madan Bhatia said it any judgment whether the) demolitions were in violation) of the court verdicts in view two contempt petitions pending) before the Supreme Court.

Meanwhile in the Lok Sabha Speaker Shivraj Patil ruled out an immediate discussion on the Bommai committee report as the Ayodhya temple issue was pending before the Supreme Court.

Responding to members who demanded the tabling of and discussion on the report jointly prepared by the standing committee of the National Integration Council (NIC) Patil said he would ascertain from Home Minister whether the report had been kept in Parliament Library for members perusal.

The Speaker said he did not favor an immediate discussion because the Bommai committee dealt with the same points on which a contempt of court proceeding was pending before the Supreme Court He assured the members that he would find out the stand the court had taken on the May 8 hearing when the case was posted before it.

The matter was raised during zero hour by Ram Vilas Paswan (JD) who pointed out that the Bommai delegation was sent following the unanimous decision of the House.

Dau Dayal Joshi (BJP) ported out that the House did not send) any committee to Ayodhya Only Parliament members went along with the NIC delegation he said.

Indrajit Gupta (CPI) said the) report should be tabled first and a discussion could follow after knowing the fate of the court case.
