GHAZIABAD(PTI): Twenty one persons including three children and seven women were killed and 19 injured when their bus collided with a truck on the Hapur Ghaziabad road at Dasna in Ghaziabad district in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh on May 22 police said here.

Nine persons died at the scene and 12 succumbed to their injuries in the hospital police said.

The bus was carrying 40 passengers when it collided with the truck.

The killed included the bus driver.

The injured persons were admitted to a hospital at Mohannagar (in Ghaziabad) and the seriously injured admitted to hospitals in New Delhi police said.

Of the bus passengers most of them were relatives of two Haj pilgrims Mohsin (65) and his wife Rafican (60) who were on their way to Saudi Arabia. Their relatives were coming to the Indira Gandhi international airport New Delhi to see off Mohsin and his wife Rafican.

The accident took place when a cyclist all of a sudden appeared before the bus. The bus driver lost the control of the bus and it collided with the truck.
