CHANDIGARH: Justice V.K.Jhanji of the Punjab and Haryana High Court last week directed tie Punjab Police to put handcuffs and fetters on Gurcharan Singh Gama while taking him out of poles custody Tor getting his remand extended or for affecting any recovery. Gursharan Singh alias Gama is the main accused in the famous Millerganj bank dacoity case.
Kuljit Singh Sidhu, counsel to Gama, contended that the accused has been falsely implicated in many bank robberies in Punjab Delhi, Alimedabad and Bombay and many murder cases including the murder of General A.S. Vaidya, Lalit Makan and his white Gitanjali, daughter of President Shankar Dayal Sharma and, SSP and SP of Patiala and also in the murder of Ashok Bedi, son of Raj Kishan Bedi, who was also SSP at the relevant time He alleged that there was the learn of his elimination and showing that he was killed in a counter or had run away from police custody He said that as there was grave apprehension about his elimination.
