CHANDIGARH (PTI): Normal life was disrupted as incessant rains lashed many parts of Punjab Haryana and Himachal Pradesh (all in north India) for the fourth successive day Aug.19.
The 350-km Hindustan-Tibet national highway in Himachal Pradesh was blocked due to massive landslides near Kumarsain.
Vehicular traffic was thrown out of gear and telecommunication services were affected following rains in the plains of Punjab and Haryana. Low-lying areas were flooded and there was frequent breakdown of electricity at several places Ambala Wednesday received 72.7 mm of rains and was the wettest place in the region.
