NEW DELHI(PTI): Pakistani writer in Urdu, Intizar Hussain, has been named to receive the inaugural “Yatra” award instituted.
The award is being given on the occasion of the launching of the company, Rupa’s literary journal “Yatra” a journal “devoted to the critical assessment hand celebration of the subcontinent’s literature over the ages.”
The award, Carriesla Cabg prize of Rs 51,000 and a citation, is being given to Husain in recognition of a lifetime’s writing which “express a profound concern with the kinds of civilization both countries (India and Pakistan) have created.”
