Bhatinda: Mr. Jagjit Singh Rode, United Akali Dal Leader and brother of Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale had declared that any settlement of the Punjab problem between Mr. Harchand Singh Longowal and the Centre would not be acceptable to his party.
The ‘united’ Akali Dal will go on fighting for the Sikh cause, Mr. Rode told newsmen here on Wednesday night.
He claimed that Mr. Longowal wanted to be the convener of the “united” Akali Dal, which was not
Acceptable to his party. Eight “united” Akali Dal leaders, including six MLA’s on Thursday held Mr. Longowal and the SGPC cief, Mr. Gurcharan Singh Tohra responsible for the Punjab tragedy.
In a joint statement is Atma Singh at Jalandhar they alleged that Mr. Longowal and Mr. Tohra had surrendered to the Army during Operation Bluesta1 last year.
They said the basic structure of the ‘united’ Akal Dal would be constituted shortly to mobilize the Sikhs.
