LONDON, Jan. 15, Reuter: The body of Darshan Das Vasdev shot dead by gunmen in London last November is to be flown back to New Delhi for burial early next week, his office said on Friday.
Darshan Das Vasdev was killed when two gunmen burst into a hall in the West London district of South all and opened fire on a mixed Hindu and Sikh congregation. Two others later died of their wounds.
The 33yearold preacher was one of the leaders of a small sect which preaches reconciliation between the Sikhs and the Hindus and opposes a campaign by Sikhs in India for a separate Sikh homeland
His body will lie in state on Saturday in the Central English city of Birmingham where he lived and will be flown to India a few days later, his office said.
