The Constitution of the World Sikh Organization lies down that each Member Country will have a National! Council, who in addition to other duties mentioned in the Constitution, will also be responsible to hold elections in their country. The National Council has already been formed in Canada but a National Council does not exist in U.K. or the United States of America at present.

Two meetings were held, one at Yuba City on 2 March 85 and the other in New York on 16 March 85. After wide consultations with W.S.0. Members, it has been decided to form an adhoc National Council (U.S.A.), so that it can hold elections in U.S.A. in May June 1985. After elections a new National Council will be formed by the W.S.0. Members of the Electoral College. The list of members of the council is given below:

The National Council (U.S.A.) as given above should elect a small executive to deal with day today W.S.O. matters in U.S.A. and may have one office in San Francisco, California, and one in New York or the Midwest. The Executive should have at least three (3) office bearers as given below:

(a) President, Vice President, or Coordinator (one of these)

(b) Secretary

(c) Treasurer

All the ten U.S. delegates to W.S.O. General Assembly (International) are exofficio members of the National Council, U.S.A., for better coordination between Secretariat and the country concerned. National Council (U.S.A.) may frame its own byelaws in line with W.S.O. Constitution. The members of National Council, who have not filled in their membership forms so far, should do so within fifteen (15) days of receipt of this letter.
