Dear Editor:

I liked your ‘Editorial’ in the ‘‘World Sikh News” Vol. dyNo.13, dated March 22, 1985. In the same issue an article entitled: “‘Rajiv Gandhi and Sikhs,” also appeared. Since Rajiv Gandhi is expected to visit the United States somewhere in June this year, the article suggests that indefinite continuous string of fasts, individually or in groups, be staged close to the U.N. Headquarters in New York around that time, as a plan for a peaceful action. Fasting is not a part of Gurmat. “Chhadde Unn Kre Pakhand. Nah Oh Suhagan Nah Oh Rund, (Gurbani).’’ Some other plan of action be devised which should be according to the ideals laid down in our Holy Guru Granth Sahib.

Sincerely,
