JAMMU: At least 30 people have died of the heat wave currently sweeping different parts of the Jammu region in the northern India.

Most of the deaths have occurred due to sun strokes in and around Jammu city, where temperatures have soared to 43 degrees celecius.

Hospital sources said 15 people had died of the heat in the last 48 hours.
