CHANDIGARH: The Panthic Committee headed by Dr. Sohar Singh and its four allied militant Organisations extended full support to Dalits and warmed these involved in the anti-reservation agitation to resist from indulging in vandalism,
Taking cognisance of the “attitude” of the Brahmins inciting the current agitation against reservation, the committee statement and there was no place for casteism in the Sikh religion. A man was known by his deeds and not by his birth. Holding Brahmins and Banivas responsible for anti-Dalit policies, he said the combination of the two had even enticed the bureaucracy and the police to the conspiracy to suppress Dalits.
The combination’s outcry for unity and integration was only a beautiful farce aimed at misguiding Dalits and kisans. Its trade and slave mentality had even made Sikhs a victim.
Under these circumstances Dalits would strengthen the struggle for Khalistan where casteism would have no place and where everyone would live with dignity and honour. It appealed to Sikh students and youth to break away from the current agitation.
The committee said instructions had been issued to the cadres to take any action against Brahmins and Baniyas encouraging such agitations. The militants can undertake any action by joining hands with Dalits it added.
