TOKYO, Reuter: An International team of soccer veterans Including Kevin Keegan of England and Eusebio of Portugal beat a Japanese side 2-0 here on Friday night in a charity match to raise funds for Aids victims.

The match, watched by 48,000 people, was the first of four scheduled games in the “kick aids” programme spearheaded by Brazilian soccer super star Pele. Pele, 47, did not play last night but the International team included George Best and Pat Jennings of Ireland and Italy’s Paolo Rossi.

Promoters hope the matches will raise 500 million dollars for victims of the killer Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome, The other games are in Zimbabwe on May 29, Paris on September 10 and Los Angeles on October 10.
