NEW DELHI: Leader of the opposition BJP Atal Be hart Vajpayee will contest the polls to the Lower House from the prestigious New Delhi constituency, BJP sources hinted.

Vajpayee, now a member in the Upper House, had unsuccessfully contested the Gwaltor seat to the lower house in the 1984 elections. The seat was bagged by railway minister Madhavrao Scindia.

Defense Minister K. C. Pant is the sitting MP from the New Delhi constituency.

The VJP and the Janata Dal have already decided on sharing of the seven seats in Delhi, five for BJP and two for Janta Dal.
