PATIALA: For the first time all the gates of the historic Baradari Garden here, were sealed and barricaded with barbed wires, on Sunday evening to stop the entry of vehicles and people as the advisor to Governor Punjab Mr. J.F. Ribeiro was to stay there for the night. He was scheduled to hoist the national flag on Independence Day on August 15th. The famous Baradari area was turned into a police camp. Eyen the entry to the gardens was restricted.

Before the start of the function, the police contingent on parade was thoroughly searched and they were required to carry only empty rifles. The local organizers heaved a sigh of relief as no untoward incident took place.
