CHANDIGARH: The detained president of Shiromini Gurdwara Prabhandak Committee Gurcharan Singh Tohra has turned down the Centre’s offer to evolve a common ground for solving the Punjab tangle.

According to news reports the Gandhi regime had sent feelers to Tohra at Khalra rest house near the Indo Pakistan border where he is under detention.

Tohra demanded the release of all imprisoned Akali leaders including former Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal and former police inspector general Simiranjit Singh man as a pre-condition before any initiative could be taken.

A solution could only emerge after consultations with all the AKali leaders he said. Both Tohraand Badal are said to have refused to give any document to the government opposing Khalistan on the plea that they had never supported this demand and as such giving it supported this demand and as such giving it in writing in meaningless.

Government is refusing to re~ lease their tile till they give such a fetter.

Tohra is playing an active role in party affairs and the Shiromini Gurdwara Prabhandak Committee, Tohra is reported to be against the induction of former Finance Minister Balwant Singh in Akali Dal T.
