OXFORD: Celebration of Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s Birthday with Jasbir Singh Sandhu, Sukhminder Singh and Varinder Singh at the Oxford Correction Centre, Wisconsin was organized by World Sikh Organization’s National and International’ Council Member Surinderpal Singh Kalra who led a jatha of eight GurSikhs from Chicago to the prison on December 27, 1987. The celebtations went on for three hours, comprising Shabad Kirtan like “Khalsa Mero Roop Hai Khass”,

“Jab Lug Khalsa Rahe Niara”’. “Waho Waho Gobind Singh Aape Gur Chela,” Anand Sahib and Ardas.

The three Sikh inmates were very high in their spirits and expressed their thanks to the U.S. Congress for passing a bill which tied financial aid to India with the Human Rights of Sikhs in Punjab When asked about their message to the Sikh community at large they categorically asked Sikhs to get united and strengthen Panthic Committee.
