Prime Minister,
World Sikh organization strongly condemns the innuendos contained in Mr. Gandhi’s statement as reported by Canadian media on July 8, 1985. Sikhs in Canada are peaceful, hardworking and law abiding citizens. We feel victimized by unsubstantiated and absolutely speculative charges of terrorism against our community. As good Canadians we resent foreign governments soiling the name of this peaceful country by linking it with international terrorism. Equally reprehensible is the state terrorism being practiced by certain countries. International community must condemn such practices which lead to reactive violent acts by alienated individuals.
Gian Singh Sandhu,
President World Sikh
Organization Ottawa. Ontario
