Journalist: Mr. Ambassador, Rajiv Gandhi’s party Chief of Punjab State, Santokh Singh Randhawa, has been replaced because of his links with Gurinder Singh who allegedly killed two constables in Chandigarh.

Ambassador: That’s right.

Journalist: He is considered to be a close lieutenant of the former Chief Minister of Punjab, Mr. Darbara Singh. Akali Dal has charged that Randhawa and Darbara Singh were really responsible for all the violence in the state.

Ambassador: Very correct.

Journalist: Do you think that Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindrawale’s frequent pleas for instituting judicial enquiry into cases of violence in Punjab was not accepted because of the complicity of these congress (1) Stalwarts in them?

Ambassador: Not in national interest to disclose.

Journalist: Mr. Ambassador, Akalis are demanding that Mr. Darbara Singh and Randhawa be arrested and interrogated for their alleged involvement in violent incidents.

Ambassador: That’s right.

Journalist: The congress (1) President, the so called Mr. Clean, has not so far reacted to this demand.

Ambassador: Very correct.

Journalist: Does it mean that Mr. Clean is not so clean when it concerns his congress (I) men? Is it possible that Mr. Clean is afraid that the arrest of his cronies would expose his own involvement in creating an atmosphere of violence to defame the Akalis?

Ambassador: Not in national interest to disclose.

Journalist: Mr. Ambassador, the new P.C.C. () Chief Mr. Rajinder Singh Sparrow has been appointed to that post in recognition of his loyal services to the ‘Nehru Dynasty’ and anti-Sikh outbursts.

Ambassador: That’s right.

Journalist: Mr. Sparrow faced angry Sikhs in New York and Washington and was thrown turban less on the streets when he tried to undermine the sacrifices of Sikh martyrs who had died while defending the Golden Temple.

Ambassador: Very correct.

Journalist: Does it mean that to qualify for a position in Congress Government or party, a Sikh is required to Sabotage his religion and mortgage his self-respect?

Ambassador: Not in national interest to disclose.
