New Delhi: A large number of Tamils settled in Sri Lanka reached the Indian shore by using fishing boats. They narrated harrowing tales of atrocities allegedly committed by security forces against the Tamils. ‘Security men enter our homes on the pretext of searching for rebels. They beat us up and then loot our valuables,” they said. Security men open fire at the Fishermen, they said. The authorities have introduced license even for cycle. Cycle is the major means of travel in Sri Lanka. This Step, they allege, has been taken to identify rebels among the Tamil population as one is required to go to the police station to get the license.
