COLOMBO (PTI): A Shi Lankan Tamil group calling itself “Ellalan force’ last week said it has “planned and mixed the powerful poison arsenic into export quality tea bags” to stop all these exports. In a statement the Ellalan force said since 1948 Tamils were attacked by the Sri Lankans and funds were collected from various ways.
“But the majority of foreign exchange was collected by tea export only.” it said and added that to stop tea exports it had mixed arsenic in export quality tea, “This is only an act of warning: ‘The Ellalan force can’t be responsible for the bad results,” the statement said. The force will continue this type of activities until Sri Lanka stopped killing Tamils, it said The “Ellalan force” on some earlier occasions had claimed responsibility for a bomb attack on a bus and later the serial bombings in the capital earlier this year. Security agencies here plead ignorance about existence of any such group.
