AURANGABAD(PTI): Eight policemen, who were on duty of escorting Pandit Sapkale, prime accused in the “Jalgaon sex scandal,”’ from Harsul Central Jail here to Jalgaon court, were suspended last week on charges of giving “preferential treatment” to the accused at a hotel on the way.

The suspension order was served on them after an inquiry, which was ordered following the publication of a news item in a local newspaper in Jalgaon as to how the accused including Raju Tadvi were “entertained” by the policemen al a Wayside hotel.
