CHANDIGARH India: Jathedar Jagdev Singh Talwandi former President of Shromani Akali Dal is likely to join the Akali Dal (Badal group) shortly. Indication to this effect was given by circles close to Badal Akali Dal. According to these sources Jathedar Talwandi had maintained silence for nearly a year because of his differences with Baba Joginder Singh who is convener of the United Akali Dal. Before their arrest in Delhi Badal and Tohra had met Talwandi to persuade him to put up a united fight for the Sikh rights. It is learnt that Talwandi enquired from them about their political program and clarified that he was not interested in joining any struggle for simple political power (Kursi Yudh).

Later Jagdev Singh Talwandi met the two leaders in Tihar jail. This meeting reportedly brought them closer. His participation in the Badal groups largely attended public meeting at Gurdwara Alamgir in Ludhiana district also points to that direction.
