NEW DELHI, India: The Bar Association of Delhi has given a call for strike by lawyers on January 27, 1988 to protest against the police lathi charge on attorneys at the Tis Hazari Court on January 21. The Delhi Bar Association President informed the reporters here that all members of the Association have been directed to reach the Delhi High Court on Monday. The lawyers, he said, would proceed from there to the Supreme Court where they would give a formal call of the strike. Supreme Court lawyers will also go on a day’s strike on January 27. The Delhi Bar Association is demanding action against the D.C.P. (North) Mrs. Kiran Bedi who is being held responsible for the alleged lathi charge on the agitating lawyers in which 25 advocates and three, newspaper reporters were injured.
