Did he simply burn,

a piece of cloth,

And stirred up,

The flag lovers wrath;

In anger,

have all the people shouted, country’s honor has,

this man flouted,

Anywhere else on earth,

this would be treason,

And his punishment?

Not be open to reason

Do you know another nation? that would tolerate!

The symbol of its people’s will, a man desecrate

But here and only here,

in these United States,

he seeks justice from a system, he himself violates,

If freedom of impression is sacred, his counselors contend,

He is free to find

what you and me defend

And those that don’t appreciate, take this man,

and take a trip around the world, if you can;

once you’ve heard,

men women and children cry, you’d want Old Glory

High up in the sky!
