By Our Sports Correspondent MADISON, N.J.: Netherland walked away with the gold, in the fourth Intercontinental Cup, men’s field hockey tournament that concluded this week. Canada came in next for the Silver and the much fancied India only managed a Bronz.

Canada upset India, by beating them 3-2, in a semifinal game, that went well into extra playing time. In the extra time, Canada rallied to draw two all, India could not match the Canadian’s third goal, scored in 83 minutes. Indians failed miserably 10 convert 10 of the 11 penalty comers, Niki Sandhu (half back) converted the winner. Earlier Indians were held to a draw by the lowly rated Egyptians, showed former bri Hlinnce by beating New Zealand 20, In the final, played on July 16th in a very absorbing game Netherlands maintained a 1-O lead over Canada, until interval, Dutch tore apart Canada’s defense in the second half by scoring five goals, Ireland beat Malaysia 3-1 to be the fifth qualifier, after Netherland, Canada, India, and France for 1990 World Cup in Lahore, Pakistan.
