FATEHGARH SAHIB: In the 47th Punjab Senior Football Championship for the J.C.1. Cup being held at Bassi, 5km from here, DFA, Hoshiarpur beat, DFA Bathinda, 7-0 today.
Bathinda boys played’ well but their goalkeeper seemed to be inexperienced and after conceding two goals in the first 30 minutes completely gave up all resistance. The scoring Started after Kultar SOL an open goal before him but his shot went over the cross bar, Then Vijay scored a fine goal for Hoshiarpur in the 25th minute of the first half and in the 30th minute Bikker of Hoshiarpur scored from a difficult angle making it 2-0 for his team.
On resumption Bathinda kept their fort intact for26 minutes Vijay of Hoshiarpur scored his second goal and then he scored another goal in the 33rd minute making 4.0. Then Bathinda boys conceded three more goals in 34th, 40th and in the dying moments of the match through Raju, Jaswinder and Bikker. Thus Vijay scored three goals in all and Bikker scored twice.
Faridkot failed to tum up against Fatehgah Sahib. Similarly, Jalandhar were given walkover against Ferozepore.
