JASPAL SINGH GILL, popularly known as Sodhi of Yuba City has achieved the distinction of being the first Sikh young soccer player who has been declared ‘as “most” valuable player (M.V.L.) in the soccer league of high schools during this session. Mr. Sodhi scored 31 goals during this season to earn the status of top scorer and above mentioned trophy.

Jaspal Gill who is an eleventh grade student in Yuba City high school, is son of S. Gurdev Singh Gill of Yuba City. He migrated to Yuba City, with his parents when he was only nine years old. He was born on July 29, 1969 at V. Kharaundi near Paldi District, Hoshiarpur (Punjab).

Jaspal Gill started his sports career as a soccer player during his schooling in U. S.A. after migration. He was hardly ten years old when he started playing soccer.
