LUDHIANA: Sikh militants fighting for Khalistan ambushed police patrol party at Palla village near Jagraon on April 28 killing five police officials and two others

Those who killed included two Punjab policemen two home guardsmen and done Special Police Officer and two others An A.S.I and a civilian woman were injured in the incident. The militants took away 3 S.L. Rs 1 stenguns and 1 303 gun of the police officials along with ammunition.

In another serious incident on the night of April 28 suspected militants struck at Pandora Waraich village near Amritsar killing eight Hindus. The action was taken by a 12 strong group of suspected militants although no militant group had so far owned the attack.

According to reports from Amritsar the attackers later set fire to the houses of the Hindu victim.
