NEW DELHI: An Indian Administrative Service (IAS) aspirant who was denied selection because of harp division among the selection committee members whether by the Union Public Service Commission.

In a brief three-page judgment Monday, the Supreme Court directed that the IAS aspirant, R-Tamil Mani, who belongs to the non-state civil service officer’s cadre (Tamil Nadu), be considered by the UPSC as the Central Administrative Tribunal (Madras) was wrong in dismissing his petition.

Tamil Mani along with four others belonging to the Tamil Nadu. Civil Service appeared for the interview. They had completed eight years in the state service and were eligible to be considered for the IAS cadre as they were of “outstanding merit and ability.”
