CHANDIGARH: Chief Judicial Magistrate Shekhar Dhawan on Nov. further extended the judicial custody of four of the five accused in the Beant Singh assassination case till November 25.
‘The four accused are Lakhwinder Singh Gurmeet Singh, Jagtar Singh Tara and Nasib Singh. They were produced before the CJM at Burail jail here where he held his court.
Navjot Singh, the fifth accused in the case, could not be produced before the C J M as the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) took the plea that the, Delhi Police bad taken him into custody for interrogation in connection with some other case.
The CJM extended the remand when CBI counsel placed that it was needed to meet more clues from the accused.
Former Punjab CM Beant Singh and 17 others were killed in a powerful blast on Aug. 31.
