LUCKNOW: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Kanshi Ram said his party could think of having an association with Samajwadi Party president Mulayam Singh Yadav only if the later repented his misdeeds and punished those responsible for resorting to goondaism.

Asked to elaborate on what he meant by repenting, he told reporters that Yaday should apologize for his misdeeds in public.

Mr. Kanshi Ram said the Bharatiya Janata Party would not withdraw support to the Mayawati Government. ‘The continuation of the Mayawati Government was more in the interest of the Bharatiya Janata Party than ours, he said.
