NEW DELHI: Controversial godman Chandraswamy was interrogated Sept. 16th, by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) about hisalleged links with underworld gang lords Dawood Ibrahim and Babloo Srivastava, The interrogation took place in Chandraswamy’s ashram at Qutub Institutional Area, south Delhi, and went on for about four hours. According to sources, the team of five officials led by the CBI Joint Director, M.L. Sharma, focused the interrogation on two points: on his alleged involvement with Dawood and whether he sheltered Babloo in his ashram for 10 months in 1992. ‘Chandraswamv is learnt to have refuted both the accusations, Meanwhile, the godman insisted that he had no hand in the shifting of Pilot from the Home Ministry, While maintaining that he had no enmity with the high-profile Minister, Chandraswamy hold that Pilot’s order to the CBI to arrest him was “a mala fide misuse of authority a8 it did not empower him to order anybody’s arrest.”
