INDORE (PTI): The Madhya Pradesh governor, Kunwar ‘Mehmood Ali Khan presented the Lata Mangeshkaraward” for light ‘music to the renowned music director .R.D Burman at a function April 29.
‘The national award, instituted by the government, carries Rs ¢ lakh and a citation, _ Addressing the gathering on the occasion, the governor said he felt honored to present the award to R.D.Burman on behalf of the state government. The government has also instituted “Kumar Gandhary award” for upcoming talent in classical music, he added. Accepting the award, the music director said his long cherished wish had been fulfilled after he was given the prestigious award.
