CHICAGO: The Punjabi Cultural Society of Chicago (P.C.S.) will organize its second annual Punjabi ‘Sports Festival on Saturday, June 1, 96 at Harper College grounds in Palatine, IL. There will be many sports events for Punjabi men women and children of all ages.

Kabaddi, Soccer and Volleyball teams’ tournament will start early due to a jam-packed schedule. Athletic events will include most of the Olympic style races, and also weight lifting. Dead line to enter the competition is May 12, 96.

Mayor of Palatine Ms. Rita Mullins has been invited to inaugurate the tournament after a parade of the participants during opening ceremonies. Honorable Gurbax Singh Malhi, Member of Parliament of Canada and State’s Attomey of Cook County Jack O’Malley are also invited to attend the festivities. Prize distribution to the winners will mark the fun filled closing ceremonies.

This is an all-day community event starting at. 9 am with no entrance fee for the spectators. The program is not for profit. Sponsors and donors will be recognized at the festival. The spectators are requested to bring lawn Chairs. Several restaurant food vendors will set up their booths to sell Punjabi food. Other vendors desirous of displaying their products should call P.C\S. to reserve a spot.
