New Delhi (PTI): The second developmental flight of India’s indigenously developed polar Satellite launch yehicleD2,(PLSV D2) is scheduled for the last quarter of this year, the Lok Sabha (lower house of Indian Parliament) was informed recently.

PSLV D2 which will carry the Indian remote sensing satelliteP2 is expected to cost about Rs.450 million (about 1.5 million U.S dollars). The cost of IRSP2 is about Rs.180 million junior federal Minister for science and technology, Bhuvanesh Chaturvedi said. In May this year, the launch of augmented satellite launch vehicle (ASL) developmental flight with stretched Rohini satellite series was successfully accomplished.

The minister said during 199495, it was proposed to further the progress of the ongoing launch vehicle and satellite projects.
