Gujranwala, Pakistan, Indian seam bowler Manoj Prabhakar has been placed ‘under the microscope in Pakistan for his bowling action.

The general impression of the Pakistan cricket team is that Prabhakar “chucks”.

Imran Khan told PTI that “his action is suspect. We have watched him closely on the video and come to this conclusion.” though Imran never mentioned the word “chuck”, whatever he thought of Prabhakar’s action tantamounted to that.

“He has got the license from the neutral umpires in the test series but I don’t think Prabhakar will get away with that in England,” Imran said.

The Pakistani captain said Prabhakar begins his bowling action in the correct fashion but suddenly brings his arm down in a whiplash, making it difficult for a batsman to pick up the deliveries.

When informed of Imran’s opinion about his bowling action, Prabhakar said “I have never been called for chucking. The two neutral umpires did not stop me from bowling. In fact, I had a word with them after Javed Miandad complained to them about my action. They told me not to worry and go ahead.

“He said a chucked ball will never swing and that he got his 16 wickets in the just concluded test series against Pakistan by swinging the ball.
