VATICAN CITY, Jan. 7, Reuter: Pope John Paul will visit 19 towns and cities during a two week tour of Uruguay, Chile and Argentina in April, the Vatican said today.

The 66yearold Pontiff will leave Italy on March 31 and spend one day in the Uruguayan capital, Montevideo, before leaving for five days in Chile.

From April 7 12 he will tour Argentina where he will end his trip by celebrating World Youth Day in Buenos Aires. He is due to return to the Vatican on April 13.

The tour equals in duration the Pope’s previous trip abroad — to Asia and Australia last November — which was his longest ever.
