CHANDIGARH: The Panthic Committee (Zafarwal) has repeated is determination to fight for the case of the Sikh Struggle for national independence. A meeting of Panthic Committee members under the leadership of Bhai Wassan Singh Zafarwal was held at some undisclosed place. According to a statement issued by the press secretary | Bhai Ajit Singh Khara the Panthic Committee has been coordinating the Sikh struggle for national independence according to the mandate bestowed upon it by the Sikh nation who, on Jan.28, 1986, at Sri Akal Takht Sahib, Amritsar, democratically passed a resolution to establish a sovereign state, in order to protect Sikh life and property. The Panthic Committee blamed. Indian Intelligence agencies for innocent killings, They have been _ doing through the killing of innocent people in large numbers, laying the blame at the doorstep of the Khalistanis in order to justify the repression of the Sikh people said Bhai Khara, The Panthic committee welcomed United States President Bill Climons statement on Sikh rot tie and lead that President Clinton toad made it clear that the Punjab problem is not one of law and order, as claimed by India, but one of political conflict which cannot be resolved without the protection of Sikh fights, The committee claimed that many European Governments have also raised the Sikh and Kashmir issues on international forums. Recently in the United Kingdom a Punjab Sub-Committee has been formed by the British Parliamentary Human Rights Group, to focus on Punjab.

The Panthic committee strongly condemned recent attack on media persons, human rights activists, lawyers and political activists in Punjab.
