LUDHIANA: A crack school hockey outfit from Pakistan will be seen in action in the fifth Prithipal Singh Memorial Hockey Tournament at the Punjab Agricultural University grounds here from October 23 to 28.

According to Mr. S.S. Saini, (SSP) Chairman, Organizing Committee, an invitation to this effect from the organizers has been accepted by the Pakistan hockey authorities, who have already sent telegraphic confirmation.

The Indian Embassy in Pakistan has been asked to give clearance to the team. The Pakistanis will be arriving here on October 21,

The Pakistani school team, divisional schools champions, will be among 20 teams taking part in the tournament. This will be the first time that a juniors’ team from Pakistan will be participating in any tournament in India.

Among the other teams to be seen in action will be a senior secondary school from Varanasi, apart from teams from Sonepat, Jammu, Delhi, Ranchi, Chandi garh, Jalandhar, Patiala and Abohar.
