MADRA: India’s Oil and Natural Gas Commission) struck oil and natural gas in the Cauvery Basin

At Kamalpuran II near Tiruvarur in Tamil Nadu’s Thanjavur district and a flow of 635 barrels of oil and 12358 cubic meters of gas per day was registered.

A depth of 3,300 meters was reached and the flow was achieved at object III at about 2030 meters. This along with the 500 barrels of oil flowing per day from Nannilarn V. Which was drilled to a depth of 2280 meters would add substantially to the oil production.
