Journalist: Mr. Ambassador, after the so called relaxed cabinet meeting in the salubrious surroundings at Sariska Rajiv Gandhi’s “circus” with a formidably elaborate paraphernalia of security arrangements moves to Lakshadweep Island.

Journalist The Sariska meeting reportedly cost the government treasury over nine corers of rupees and the Lakshadweep extravaganza is likely to cost over 50 corers of rupees.

Ambassador, Very correct.

Journalist: How can the Prime Minister of a drought-stricken country indulge in such shameless squandering of the national funds? What justification will he have in seeking aid from the foreign countries when he himself shows scant concern for the starving multitudes of his countrymen?

Journalist Mr. Ambassador, the Congress (I) leaders in India is demanding the resignation of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Mr. N.T. Rama Rao following a High Court verdict that there is a prima facie case of corrupt practices against him.

Journalist. The Telegu Desam Party on the other hand has turned down the offer of N.T. Rama Rao to step down. They described the move as a Congress (I) conspiracy to negate popular verdicts through yet another constitutional instrumentality (the law courts).

Journalist don’t you think rulers in Delhi have rendered the judiciary completely defunct by using it for political ends? How can Congress (I) leaders ask others to resign when their own leader feels no qualms in pocketing 350 corers out of defense deal?

Journalist: Mr. Ambassador, Congress (I) leader of Punjab, Mr. Beant Singh said at a meeting that there was no black law in Punjab.

Ambassador: That’s right.

Journalist: He also stated that the Congress leaders had already fulfilled all promises made to the Sikhs before independence and Sikhs were enjoying the full glow of freedom in India.

Ambassador: Very correct.

Journalist: Don’t you think Beant Singh’s statements are typical of a whore who consoles herself with a belief that the fun-seeking “customers” are her lawfully wedded husbands?
