CHANDIGARH India: Harmohinder Singh Chattha, who was unanimously elected Speaker of Haryana Assembly was elected as an independent supported by Lok Dal (B) from Nagal constituency of Ambala district. Mr. Ghattha who was a minister in the first Bansi Lali ministry later resigned from Congress to mark his protest against the policies of Bhajan Lal government on the treatment of Sikhs in Haryana.
Mr. Chattha who is a practicing lawyer at Kurukushetra is a cousin. of Mr. Ajit Singh Chattha of Sunnyvale.
