PATIALA: The Delhi based Guru Nanak Hospital Trust will set up a Medical College along with a 500 bed hospital at Talwandi Sabo in Bathinda district.

The Chairman of the trust, Dr. Inderjit Singh who is a former Chairman of Punjab and Sind Bank, said at Talwandi Sabo yesterday that this project would cost between Rs 20 and Rs 25 crore. The college and hospital would provide all facilities for carrying out research work. This hospital would meet the medical needs of the rural areas of the Malwa belt. An amount of Rs 10 lakh had been deposited with the Punjabi University authorities as the first installment of endowment fee.

Dr. Inderjit Singh told that the trust would also set up an engineering college at Anandpur Sahib to meet the growing need of the Punjabis. Work on both the projects would be started on war footing as soon as approval from the competent authorities was received. The first installment amounting to Rs S lakh towards endowment fee has also been deposited with the university.
