DUBLIN, Reuter: Manzoor Elahi hit a whirlwind century today as Pakistan put Ireland’s bowling to the sword in the second of two one day matches which they won on a faster scoring rate.

Elahi raced to 109 in 79 minutes off 66 deliveries as Pakistan amassed 376 for seven from their 60 overs.

In between several interruptions for rain, Ireland replied with 144 for two off 31.1 overs. Alf Masood, a Pakistani resident in Dublin, scored 89 for the home side which included 13 fours and two sixes.

Elahi clubbed six sixes and 11 fours and shared with Salim Malika fifth wicket stand of 131 off only 15 overs.

Malik (32) had earlier shared a partnership of 132 in 21.4 overs for the third wicket with Ijaz Ahmed.
