EDMONTON, Alberta: The Edmonton Oilers won their third Stanley Cup Championship in four years with a 31 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers before a wildly celebration hometown crowd.

Jari Kurri broke a 11 tie at 14:59 of the second period and Glen Anderson added a goal late in the game to give the Oilers the title four games to three in the first seven game final since 1971.

After 80 regular season games and nearly two months of postseason play, Edmonton finally closed out the National Hockey League season by shutting down the Flyer offence.
